**Job Title: Machine Operator Mechanic**
**Job Description**
We are seeking two skilled maintenance operators to join our dynamic team. One operator will specialize in operating the Vrock, while the other will focus on the Pipe Pro. The role involves operating concrete pipe producing machines, conducting repairs during production, and performing scheduled maintenance. The successful candidates will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing production machines.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate concrete pipe producing machines efficiently.
+ Conduct repairs on equipment during production.
+ Perform scheduled maintenance repairs on equipment.
+ Apply mechanic skills, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
+ Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
+ Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
+ Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
+ Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in repair, troubleshooting, and operation of machines.
+ Competency in computer skills, specifically operating machines using HMI.
+ Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
+ Basic math skills and understanding of conversion between metric and standard measurements.
+ Capability to read a tape measure.
+ Mechanical aptitude, including the use of hand and power tools and distinguishing between wrench sizes.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Previous experience working in the concrete industry or similar environment.
+ Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a concrete plant that can be dirty, loud, dusty, and subject to extreme temperatures. Our team consists of 8-10 technicians working flexible shifts between 5:00am-1:30pm and 9:00am-6:30pm. We have a great work culture with an average tenure of 5-10 years, valuing new ideas from recent employees. The dress code is casual, consisting of a t-shirt, jeans, and steel-toed shoes.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashland, VA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
