Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Production Supervisor, 2nd Shift for the Point of Rocks, MD location.\n \nDirect, supervise, and coordinate production in assigned area through assignment of duties and personal skills; ensure that production safety, quality and volume meet production goals; Understand product and customer requirements and key production tasks.\n \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\nPlan, supervise, direct and engage in daily production operations and anticipate production problems, (i.e., material shortages, equipment malfunctions, rush orders, etc) such that loss of work hours is minimized and production and quality objectives are achieved.\nUtilize skills, work hours, materials and work flow to achieve production and quality objectives; exchange timely information with other supervisors on interdepartmental product flow and work force needs.\nInstruct, train, orient, motivate and otherwise assist employees so that safety, quality and production objectives are achieved.\nParticipate in the selection/interview process to fill worker positions and appraise employee performance. Recommend promotions, transfers and work assignments.\nProvide information or otherwise assist others in their efforts to initiate efforts aimed at effecting cost reductions, work simplification or improvements in methods or equipment.\nResponsible for the implementation of all safety policies and procedures, including housekeeping practices, awareness of hazardous conditions; respond to employee injuries, issuing medical authorization forms, investigating accident causes and recommending means to prevent accident reoccurrence.\nKeep employees informed of the company rules and regulations, and production and quality expectations. Issue warnings and other approved disciplinary measures when necessary. Encourage employee communication and endorse an open door policy.\nMaintain professionalism and stay abreast of new developments through publications, vendors and in-house management training.\nOther responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; Planning, assigning and directing work; Appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nRecommend overtime and control costs.\nPerform other job duties as assigned by supervisor.\nREQUIREMENTS:\n\nAssociate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Experience may substitute for education.\nFive (5) years experience in the Steel Industry required.\nHave received Leadership/Management Skills Training, Safety Training, etc. (preferred).\nPossess computer skills to include: MS Excel, Word and Lotus Notes (Minimum)\nMust be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to production or productivity problems.\nAble to effectively manage time including work schedules, events, programs and other activities.\nPosses the ability to communicate information and ideas effectively.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\n\nRegularly required to stand; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.\nFrequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.\nFrequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\n\nSome office and frequent exposure to computer display.\nRoutine exposure to steel fabrication environment and occasional outside weather conditions, excessive noise levels and is regularly exposed to vibration.\nFrequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.\nOccasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.\n

This role will require shift work. The Client Technology Operation Center covers a 24/7 operation and members are asked to be flexible in providing coverage outside of their normal shift hours, when the need arises. Position is for full time employment and can be performed fully remote. Additional responsibilities include: Provide eyes on glass monitoring using various monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, SCOM, ITM, SolarWinds and other monitoring toolsInvestigate and verify alerts and reported issuesEscalate issues to the Tier 2 operations team when necessaryAccess devices and analyze graphingReview device logs documentation and analysisPerform real time monitoring of vital systemsProvide general event management and communication management support for the TOCSupport a 24x7 system monitoring service to proactively identify and assess problems before the customer reports themSupport response time -ensuring system information, contact information and processes are in place to coordinate the necessary IT response to system problemsRely on your teammates and be an active collaborator and participant within the groupProvide event management and support to service owners and IT managersAuthor reports, prepare data for status/findings presentations, prepare flowcharts and draft process documents for team activities.Communicate an honest interpretation of data to all stakeholders; support and facilitate open communication between all stakeholders.
