You will serve as a high-level advisor on labor relations and negotiations with certified employee bargaining units, proposals regarding pay, benefits, and working conditions, contract and employment-related grievances, allegations of unfair labor practices, and other labor relations issues. Key Responsibilities: Program Management: Oversee the labor relations program, develop project plans, and ensure project deliverables are met. Negotiation Leadership: Serve on the County's Negotiation Team and coordinate team responsibilities related to labor negotiations. Data Analysis: Review and analyze information related to bargaining proposals and collective bargaining units. Grievance Management: Oversee grievance hearings, mediation, and arbitration. Labor Agreement Administration: Manage the administration of labor agreements and provide interpretation and training to managers and employees. Negotiation: As part of a team, negotiate labor agreements and associated documents. Strategic Planning: Develop the strategic direction of the labor relations program. Role: Human Resources Coordinator     
Location: Sterling, VA (hybrid schedule)
Duration: Direct Hire
Pay: $50,000 – $60,000 depending on experience

This role provides administrative support to all areas of Human Resources including but not limited to recruiting, benefits, compensation, reporting, training, compliance and special projects.

Responsibilities for the Human Resources Coordinator
  • Champion Recruiting functions for all business areas
  • Assist in the revision of the employee handbook, policies and job descriptions
  • Help in the planning, set-up and communication of employee programs.
  • Aid in benefits programs, including open enrollments, new employee enrollments, changes in enrollment and billing.
  • Research on HR related issues.
  • Handle paperwork for Disability, Worker’s Compensation, FMLA.
  • Responsible for data gathering for compliance reporting
  • Employee onboarding, paperwork and files, manage documents in employee portal.
  • Process terminations and conduct exit interviews.
  • Assist with maintaining I-9 forms
  • Update organizational charts.
  • Update the monthly employee electronic newsletter.
  • Assist with providing employment verifications

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the Human Resources Coordinator
  • Associates degree or higher
  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience
  • Experience with HRIS, preferably ADP and Taleo
  • Strong familiarity with federal, state, and local laws regulating employee relations practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
