Job Title -Field Service Technician Field Service Technician General Information Job Description: Field Service Engineer Temp to Perm Location: Tewksbury, MA Must be vaccinated Position Summary: Administer and perform calibration/maintenance/minor repair on customer-owned pipette units for various customers in locations throughout the United States. Create and maintain strong customer relationships via superior service in the field. When not in the field, the individual will assist in the service/calibration depot with maintenance, and calibration of customer-owned lab equipment. Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities: Perform On-Site pipette calibration and preventative maintenance in accordance with IOS 17025 and ISO 8655 calibration standards. Produce and distribute high quality Field Service Reports of work performed. Work with equipment vendors to report quality issues and maintain technical knowledge of current and emerging pipette equipment. Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel internal and external to the company. Maintain and update CRM database. Comply with Thermo Fisher Scientific Corporate Travel and Expense Policies. Travel Requirements: No travel restrictions Ability to travel 65%+ of the time (in the U.S.) Educational Qualifications: Associate Degree in an engineering related field or equivalent experience (Bachelor's degree preferred) Experience Qualifications: 5+ years' experience in Field Service High proficiency in technical troubleshooting and repair Experience in customer relationship management Excellent computer skills including an understanding of Microsoft Office applications and Operating Systems (Windows, Word, Excel, and Access) Ability to effectively learn and use CRM applications Strong oral and written communications skills Ability to operate independently, with initiative, and good business judgement Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
