Essential Functions:- Perform all responsibilities of a Route Sales Representative and related tasks.- Learn and support all routes. Run routes as needed for holidays, vacations or other vacancies.- When not on a route, assist in rush deliveries, renewals, audits, training and any other tasks assigned by supervision.- Solicit new customers, up-sell/cross-sell/sample all lines of service or product and ensure a profitable product mix.- Actively participate in promotions and contests, training and audits.- Follow company policies/procedures regarding new customers, managing customer needs and all aspects of service.- Ensure customer loyalty and outstanding customer service. Build relationships, communicate openly, educate customers and proactively resolve concerns in cooperation with supervision.- Safely operate a delivery vehicle on each trip, following all applicable laws and company policy. Keep service agreements current and renewed.- Return from route and off load soiled textiles in the receiving area of facility.- Accurately prepare route paperwork and follow check-in procedures.- Follow written and verbal instructions and perform other tasks as directed by supervision.
Additional Functions:- Support other service personnel as required by supervision.Qualifications:- Have and maintain a valid Drivers License, CDL when applicable.- Maintain a driving record free of chargeable accidents, speeding, safety or other violations.- Demonstrate excellent skills in the operation of vehicles and verifiable minimum one year experience of safe and successful driving.- Demonstrate excellent skills in customer service and route sales.- Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English, comprehend and follow direction and good time management skills and team player.- Recognize colors, sizes and types of product and count, add and subtract accurately.Education:- High School graduation or similar experience. Job DescriptionUnder general supervision this position drives the Company truck or automobile over an established route(s) to deliver products and/or picks up returned merchandise. Additionally, this position fulfills all shipping and receiving functions within the warehouse.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-Keeps vehicle fueled in accordance to management instructions and business needs and notifies management of needed repairs.-Follows all safety rules and applicable laws.-In some locations, the position will require responsibility for picking up or delivering merchandise between WORLDPAC location and/or feeder points. At feeder points, may be responsible for distribution of merchandise.-Responsible for maintaining and storing equipment (i.e. pagers, keys, fuel card) in accordance to warehouse guidelines.-Accurately interprets various warehouse documents to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.-Opens bales, crates and other containers. Marks materials with identifying information.-Sorts, organizes and prepares merchandise from receiving or the production areas to storage or to other designated areas, by part and quantity.-Verifies documentation and records incoming merchandise by part and quantity.-May use computer to enter, maintain, locate and create records. What You'll Do:
Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
Operate Equipment. Operates ready-mix truck in accordance with all federal, state, and Vulcan regulations. Operate a truck to receive a load, evaluate slump, and drive to the job site. Maneuver truck on job site, attach chutes to discharge material, and clean truck to minimize concrete buildup.
Inspect and Maintain Equipment. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately complete daily mobile equipment reports. Clean the outside of the vehicle and chutes to ensure the absence of concrete build-up at the end of each shift.
Document and Record Information. Complete all forms, service reports, tickets, and required paperwork to ensure organization of documents and needed paperwork.
Coordinate with Dispatch. Work closely with dispatch, maintenance, and plant management to facilitate the flow of information required to provide good customer service.
Perform General Physical Activities. Perform physical activities such as cleaning all areas on the vehicle, climbing a ladder to inspect loads of ready mix concrete, hanging mixer chutes, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Skills You'll Need:
Ready to Drive. Must possess a commercial driver's license and have a valid DOT physical or the ability to get one.
Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing ready-mix trucks is preferred. Experience with Department of Transportation rules and regulations is preferred.
Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
Customer Focus. Must be able to take responsibility for customer relationships and appropriately represent Vulcan on job sites and while transporting product on public streets and highways.
