Overview The Security Governance and Risk (SG&R) Communications, Training & Design Team supports Information Security, Security Governance and Risk, and security/cybersecurity initiatives with department-wide internal strategic communications, training, and multimedia elements to achieve organizational, strategic, financial, and member service goals and objectives. The team is comprised of communications specialists, multimedia designers, technical writers, and instructional designers who all work to reduce enterprise risk by creating influential, customer-focused communication, education, and designs that drive results. The Summer Associate position is tailored toward the multimedia role and will engage in design and multimedia implementations. The SG&R Communications, Training & Design Team collaborates to implement strategies and provide world-class training, communication, and design services to proactively manage and create cultural changes to reduce security risk across the enterprise and with our members. The Summer Associate will provide professional execution of day-to-day tasks and special projects while working within established SG&R standards, policies, and procedures. The Summer Associate will help drive the SG&R initiatives that could include completing tasks such as: Develop internal communications for department initiatives and related projects Assist in designing, planning, and managing instructional design projects and initiatives within the business unit Design and develop complex multimedia elements (graphics, animations) and apply agile techniques to develop Interactive Multimedia Instruction, Web-based training, video-based learning solutions, and software simulations to support employees and business unit objectives across the organization. The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2024 and ending in August 2024. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. As a member of the Baseline Analytics Center for Enablement, the Data Analytics Engineer Summer Associate will focus on developing BI semantic layer data sources and insightful dashboards in Tableau and Power BI. This role will be responsible for ensuring that both the structure and representation of data are optimized for clarity, reusability, and actionable insights for stakeholders and business users.

Responsibilities

Work directly with business users to understand data analytics requirements
Design and develop published data sources and datasets in Tableau and Power BI
Interpret data and transform it into a format that is useful to the business and promotes effective decision making
Design and develop visually engaging and informative analytics dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights for business users and internal stakeholders
Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and relevance of the data presented
Use statistical practices to analyze current and historical data to make predictions, identify risks, and opportunities for enabling better decisions on planned/future events
Present dashboards to the BI & analytics community
Evaluate, develop, and implement analytical techniques and best practices to educate business users
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Pursing Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or other related field
Familiarity with Tableau and Power BI, or other data visualization tools
Familiarity with SQL and relational data modeling skills
An analytical mindset with a strong ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights
Ability to communicate end to end data outcomes visually and through story telling
Ability to manipulate raw data into effective visualizations, reports, and dashboards
Team player with enthusiasm for collaboration and continuous learning
Strong communication and presentation skills

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrates a high comfort level speaking in front of large audiences
Experience with data mapping and building requirements
Programming experience in Python or R
Familiarity with foundational machine learning algorithms and concepts, like regression, clustering, and classification
