Community Boat Building is a fiscally sponsored project of TSNE (tsne.org). Our programs help underserved students connect in-classroom learning with a tangible project, making learning real and relevant. The skills they develop have a transformative impact that is transferable to school, future employment, and throughout life. Taking students out of their classroom and engaging them in hands-on learning makes their world bigger and brings learning to life. CBB’s teachers are the driving force behind potentially life-changing results for our students. ResponsibilitiesThe teacher position is a full-time position for the 2023-24 school year that reports to CBB’s Executive Director. The position focuses on three areas:Teaching academic concepts through boat buildingDeveloping new curriculum ideasWorking with volunteers and other staff to manage our shop and programs ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Serve as the relationship manager for a CBB partner school.Teach the CBB curriculum to students who may range in age from 5th grade through 8th CBB seeks to engage partner schools for year-long programs, but there may be shorter-term engagements as well. Boat building typically occurs in teams of 6 students and is designed to complement and reinforce grade-level math instruction.
