Check out the FAO Schwarz website for more information here.DIRECT SERVICE:The FAO Schwarz Fellow will serve as a valuable member of the education team, playing a key role in enhancing the Museum's teen programs and focusing on the Museum's school programs and school partnerships, helping to engage both with our community partners as well as with our youth/teens. The fellow will:Work with school, family, and public audiences of all ages through informal education opportunities as part of the In-Gallery learning team.During the school year, work with youth staff to develop relationships, mentor, and support teens as part of our school partnership programs to impart career, STEM, and communication skills within an informal education setting.During the summer, work with youth and HR staff to develop relationships and support teens in around career paths, job readiness, and development of leadership and interpersonal skills within the Summer Youth Internship (SYI) program.PROJECT WORK:The FAO Schwarz Fellow will create new programming to bring teens together at the Museum to learn about pathways to STEM careers, connect with practicing STEM professionals, engage with hands-on STEM learning, and align with the Museum's DEI work to collaborate with local high school students. The fellow will:Collaborate with the Youth Programs team to identify relevant and engaging STEM career themes to highlight, including researching and identifying guest speakers, selecting accompanying STEM activities for hands-on exploration at the Museum, and creating pre and post materials for teacher and student use.Secure and communicate internal space needs, collaborate with internal stakeholders to prepare event space and needs, organize and staff check-in tables as needed, emcee events as needed, carry out clean-up plan.Write and share impact report, finalize internal and external payments as needed, assess participant survey feedback, schedule debrief meeting with community partnersWORK SCHEDULE:This position is full-time, Tuesday-Saturday, 40 hours/week lasting a duration of 2 years.STARTING SALARY:$40,000 in year one (includes $2,000 start of Fellowship bonus) and $45,000 in year two (includes $3,000 end of Fellowship bonus)HOW TO APPLY:Applicants must be on track to graduate with a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university between December 2022 and June 2023 and be eligible to work in the United States for the duration of the two-year Fellowship.
