Primary Care Phone Triage.
Telephone triage nurses are registered nurses who administer care via telehealth services. Typically, this means speaking to patients over the phone, providing them with medical advice, evaluating and assessing their symptoms and consulting with physicians as needed.

3H is a 22 Neuroscience/Spine unit at Blodgett Hospital that specializes in the care of patients admitted with neurological conditions, stroke, and spinal surgeries such as fusions and laminectomies. Nurses are often drawn to 3H for the variety of patients while still having a specialty focus. Come join our growing Bronchoscopy Endoscopy team in Grand Rapids! We serve patients across our Corewell Health Butterworth and Blodgett Hospitals and our outpatient facility located on Lake Drive. Our department works closely with our Endoscopy and Pulmonary providers and other disciplines and we have several specialized and advanced training opportunities within this field. We perform a variety of complex procedures, including colonoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), ileoscopy, pouchoscopy, bronchoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic mucosal resections, and other advanced procedures in a growing field of interventional endoscopy. Across our three locations, we performed over 39,000 procedures last year.
The base requirements for this role are as follows:
• Dayshift positions Monday to Friday with a 6 week core schedule
• 10 hour shift lengths and variable start times
• Two weeknight call shifts within 6 week core schedule
• Every 6th weekend requirement
• Up to two holidays on call a year

Maintains responsibility for preparation of the cardiac, vascular and transplant surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, making appropriate responses as needed. Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Nursing Manager, and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse uses clinical judgment skills to access and implement the treatment plan for patients. The RN assesses monitors, detects, plans and takes appropriate action to prevent physiological complications associated with specific health problems and/or medical treatment.
Essential Functions
• Communicates effectively with staff, residents and families. Assesses, develops, and maintains an individualized patient plan of care with the patient.
• As needed, specified by SH entity: Performs Medication Administration Pass according to regulatory guidelines. Informs MDS coordinator of significant resident/patient changes needed for completion of the MDS.
• Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.
• Evaluates patient’s and significant other’s educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or makes appropriate referrals.
• Observes and reports the patient’s condition, needs and outcomes of intervention to the physician and other team members. Identify problems and emergency situations, and initiate immediate “life saving” measures in the absence of a physician.
• As needed, specified by SH entity: Teaches and supervises the care provided by CNA, LPN or other nursing service personnel according to regulatory and agency guidelines.
• Implements the plan of care by providing nursing services, including teaching, treatments, diagnostics, and preventive procedures, regularly evaluating the patient’s progress toward established goals recommending revisions to the plan as necessary, and planning for termination of service or discharge. Assumes a leadership role and delegates appropriately to support staff to facilitate safe, quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.
• Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the application of clinical paths, QA processes and other related activities. Ensures that processes and services are continuously monitored for quality, cost effectiveness, and efficiency.
