Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor position will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance staff and giving daily direction for monitoring plant operations as well as perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, respond to calls for service to any line in a timely manner, independently troubleshoots equipment that needs repair or that is operating at a substandard level as well as make repairs and adjustments in a timely fashion to ensure as little downtime as possible.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Oversees the maintenance staff and assigns daily tasks in the safest most efficient mannerAssists in monitoring and maintaining plant operations, including production and packaging equipment.Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instrumentsEnsure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems and production machines; troubleshoot malfunctionsIndependently troubleshoots equipment that needs repair or that is operating at a substandard levelSetup and tear down equipment; may assist with major repairs, construction, fabrication, and installation of new plant equipmentManages spare parts inventory and reorders parts and materials as needed.Makes repairs and adjustments in a timely fashion to ensure as little downtime as possibleMonitor all safety devices and guards for correct position and operation.Understand the safe use of each piece of equipment utilized on the production lines.Job Qualifications2 -3 years Industrial, Agricultural or Production/Food Processing mechanical experience recommended or experience in performing maintenance on food production equipment or on manufacturing equipment. Our two wildlife food processing facilities are located in the heart of sunflower seed and grain-growing regions and we are currently searching for a Maintenance Supervisor for our wildlife facility located in Fargo, ND.


Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor position will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance staff and giving daily direction for monitoring plant operations as well as perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, respond to calls for service to any line in a timely manner, independently troubleshoots equipment that needs repair or that is operating at a substandard level as well as make repairs and adjustments in a timely fashion to ensure as little downtime as possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the maintenance staff and assigns daily tasks in the safest most efficient manner
  • Assists in monitoring and maintaining plant operations, including production and packaging equipment.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems and production machines; troubleshoot malfunctions
  • Independently troubleshoots equipment that needs repair or that is operating at a substandard level
  • Setup and tear down equipment; may assist with major repairs, construction, fabrication, and installation of new plant equipment
  • Manages spare parts inventory and reorders parts and materials as needed.
  • Makes repairs and adjustments in a timely fashion to ensure as little downtime as possible
  • Monitor all safety devices and guards for correct position and operation.
  • Understand the safe use of each piece of equipment utilized on the production lines.

Job Qualifications

  • 2 -3 years Industrial, Agricultural or Production/Food Processing mechanical experience recommended or experience in performing maintenance on food production equipment or on manufacturing equipment. Vocational/Technical training preferred
  • 1 year of supervisory
  • Basic industrial equipment maintenance and repair skills, working with hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices a must.
  • Electrical experience and/or welding experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies a plus
  • Ability to show exemplary leadership and safety skills and follow through to ensure the job is done correctly
  • Ability to operate a forklift and skid steer
  • Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables where limited standardization exists

Job Description

Red River Commodities has processed wild bird food and wildlife food products for more than 30 years. We contract directly with local growers to provide the freshest possible grains at the best possible prices. Our two wildlife food processing facilities are located in the heart of sunflower seed and grain-growing regions and we are currently searching for a Maintenance Supervisor for our wildlife facility located in Fargo, ND.


Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor position will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance staff and giving daily direction for monitoring plant operations as well as perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, respond to calls for service to any line in a timely manner, independently troubleshoots equipment that needs repair or that is operating at a substandard level as well as make repairs and adjustments in a timely fashion to ensure as little downtime as possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the maintenance staff and assigns daily tasks in the safest most efficient manner
  • Assists in monitoring and maintaining plant operations, including production and packaging equipment.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems and production machines; troubleshoot malfunctions
  • Independently troubleshoots equipment that needs repair or that is operating at a substandard level
  • Setup and tear down equipment; may assist with major repairs, construction, fabrication, and installation of new plant equipment
  • Manages spare parts inventory and reorders parts and materials as needed.
  • Makes repairs and adjustments in a timely fashion to ensure as little downtime as possible
  • Monitor all safety devices and guards for correct position and operation.
  • Understand the safe use of each piece of equipment utilized on the production lines.

Job Qualifications

  • 2 -3 years Industrial, Agricultural or Production/Food Processing mechanical experience recommended or experience in performing maintenance on food production equipment or on manufacturing equipment. Vocational/Technical training preferred
  • 1 year of supervisory
  • Basic industrial equipment maintenance and repair skills, working with hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices a must.
  • Electrical experience and/or welding experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies a plus
  • Ability to show exemplary leadership and safety skills and follow through to ensure the job is done correctly
  • Ability to operate a forklift and skid steer
  • Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables where limited standardization exists
